Najhlb\u0161ie miesto na svete sa nach\u00e1dza pr\u00e1ve priehlbin\u00e1ch morsk\u00e9ho dna, a je n\u00edm zn\u00e1ma Mari\u00e1nska priekopa. Morsk\u00fdch priekop po svete je ne\u00farekom a v\u00e4\u010d\u0161ina z nich dosahuje h\u013abku cez \u0161es\u0165tis\u00edc kilometrov. U\u017e spom\u00ednan\u00e1 Mari\u00e1nska priekopa sa m\u00f4\u017ee p\u00fd\u0161i\u0165 takmer dvojn\u00e1sobkom tohto \u010d\u00edsla, a to je jeden\u00e1s\u0165tis\u00edctridsa\u0165\u0161tyri metrov pod morom. Jej najhlb\u0161\u00edm bodom je Challenger, ktor\u00fd je pomenovan\u00fd po lodi, ktor\u00e1 ako prv\u00e1 v hist\u00f3rii v roku 1951 zmerala h\u013abku tejto priekopy.
